  • For the 2025/26 financial year, adjusted EBITDA pre-IFRS 16 rose by 5.4% to a record EUR 190 million

Telgte, June 3rd, 2026. Following record profitability in FY 2025/26, Takko Fashion started the new financial year with strong momentum, delivering the most successful first quarter in the company’s history. Driven by targeted investments in key strategic initiatives, the quality fashion discounter continues executing on its successful growth trajectory and demonstrates the strength and resilience of its business model.

Martino Pessina, CEO of Takko Fashion: “This is more than a strong start to the year – it is a powerful confirmation that Takko Fashion is continuing its growth path. With the highest expansion pace since 2019, we are winning new customers. At the same time, our collections have been very well received, which underlines the relevance of our value proposition. Delivering strong results and growing EBITDA by 26% in Q1, especially in a challenging market environment, is solid proof that our SHINE 2028 strategy is working. With our strategy, we make it our top priority to offer our customers the best combination of quality, fashion, and discount prices. A heartfelt thank you goes to the Takko team for their passionate contribution to this!”

In Q1, Takko Fashion achieved its strongest first-quarter performance to date, with adjusted net revenue increasing by 3% to EUR 295 million (Q1 FY 2024/25: EUR 287 million). Adjusted EBITDA pre-IFRS 16 rose by 26% year-on-year to EUR 33 million.

This strong performance is supported by targeted investments across key growth drivers. Takko Fashion is accelerating store expansion at the fastest pace since 2019, opening 31 new stores and completing 27 store modernizations in Q1 alone. In financial year 2025/26, the company added 85 new stores and completed 106 refits, further strengthening its presence across core markets.

Takko Fashion is scaling its logistics capabilities to match this growth, including the development of a new distribution centre in Salzgitter, which is expected to create up to 600 jobs and further strengthen the company’s long-term competitiveness. Additionally, Takko Fashion continuously invests in new and enhanced customer-facing and operational systems. The retailer’s hybrid IT architecture, which enables personalized features in the Takko Friends loyalty app and enhances the digital shopping experience for customers, was recognized with the MACH Alliance Impact Award 2025. Following rapid growth, nearly 11 million users now benefit from the advantages of the Takko Friends program. In addition, Takko’s internally developed AI-chatbot Taikko was honored with the renowned Retail Technology Award (reta) in 2025, and the company received the ESG Transparency Award for its sustainability report.

The strong Q1 results build on record profitability achieved in the financial year 2025/26, with adjusted EBITDA pre-IFRS 16 increasing by 5.4% to EUR 190 million (FY 2024/25: EUR 180 million), driven by improved gross profit and a more focused product offering. As a result, the adjusted EBITDA margin rose to 14.8%.

Adjusted net revenue totaled EUR 1,283 million, down 2.6% year-on-year (FY 2024/25: EUR 1,317 million), reflecting subdued consumer sentiment across Europe. Despite this, Takko Fashion outperformed its core German market, which contracted by approximately 4%1. Beyond Germany, the retailer also achieved strong momentum in international markets, particularly in the Netherlands and Belgium, further proving its ability to grow across Europe.

Stefan Macheleidt, CFO of Takko Fashion: “Following record profitability in fiscal year 2025/26, our exceptionally strong start to the new financial year demonstrates that growth and profitability at Takko Fashion go hand in hand. Outperforming the German market last year and now exceeding that record year’s Q1 sales and EBITDA figures, demonstrates the strength of Takko’s value-focused positioning and ability to grow profitably despite volatile market conditions. In addition, through targeted investment in our digital infrastructure and customer-focused technologies, we are consistently evolving into a data-driven company. The strong performance in key international markets also highlights that our growth is well diversified and not limited to Germany.”
